My undergraduate degree is in history, and I took particular interest in Soviet and Russian history, and the history of revolutions.
I also hold a Master’s Degree in Systems Science, an interdisciplinary field which combines statistics, psychology, artificial intelligence, and various other fields. In Systems Science, each student crafts their own course of study, and no two degrees are the same (unlike, say, economics, in which the curriculum is rigidly defined). I’ve worked in tech for twenty years, first as a web developer, then as a principal in a web development company, then as a data scientist and most recently as a data engineer…
And obviously I’m a poet and writer of fiction. From an early age I was a voracious reader, and I began dabbling with writing fiction in college… In 2006-2007 I wrote the manuscript for what, hopefully, will be the second novel in my series on revolutions. There were a lot of good ideas, but the project didn’t really come together as a novel, and I decided to put the material aside for a while and refine my ideas about how to approach an ambitious several-hundred-page novel.
In 2019 I decided to get more serious about my writing, and decided to start with short fiction…
